Stitch Sayers

Stitch Sayers

3rd Degree Black Belt and Former Head Kickboxing/Boxing instructor at Kicks in Eastbourne.

Stitch is the founder of Kicks Eastbourne and assists with the running of the club. 

Stitch first started training at Kicks in 1998 under Instructors Jim Caldecourt and Antony Hogbin.

As a Junior Stitch studied Kung Fu, and as an adolescent he trained in mixed martial arts.
From 1998 – 2001 Stitch trained with Kicks and got up to Blue Belt. An injury and a move from Brighton forced Stitch to take a considerable amount of time out from training (2001 – 2008).
At the start of 2009 Stitch returned to training and studying under Chief Instructor Chris Kent. Since then:

  • 2009: Started assisting with Junior Kickboxing Classes under Instructor Chris Kent.
  • Summer 2010 (with Peter Muffett as Acting Instructor) Stitch set up and started the Kicks Club in Eastbourne.
  • 2010 / 2011 Stitch was both Assistant and Cover Instructor under Peter Muffett and Shane Kent. He did this in order to obtain the teaching hours required by Kicks to set up a Kicks Club. This achieved, Stitch is now building up his class in Eastbourne and will look to develop Kicks training in this part of Sussex.
  • Coaches and corners fighters ringside.
  • Stitch is also a Cover Instructor for both Junior and Senior Classes in Brighton, and at Sussex University.
  • Absolute First Aid Certificate

Peter Muffett

Peter Muffett

2nd Degree Black Belt and Head Instructor

Peter has been studying Martial Arts for over 30 years. He has been a member of the Kicks team for 15 years of those.

Peter is a qualified 2nd degree black belt (kickboxing) with national honours as both a full contact and semi-contact fighter. Furthermore, Peter has black-belt honours in a number of martial arts including; 2nd degree in Tae Kwon Do studied and gained in South Korea, a black belt in Korean/Russian Sambo, a black belt in Hapkido, a black belt in Chinese Wu Shu (including time studied at the Shaolin Temple, a black belt in Thai-boxing with time spent training and fighting in Thailand. Peter has also obtained an ABA coaches certificate in boxing and also has up to and including a platinum certification from the GB National Boxing Awards programme.

Peter has over 20 years experience as a youth and community worker; young persons advocate, teacher of English and special needs amongst other things. With qualifications gained both at national institutions (Master's and BA Honours) as well as numerous online courses.

James Brown

Jamie Brown

We are delighted to have Jamie Brown as part of our Team of Kicks Instructors. Jamie started training at Kicks in 2007. He achieved his Black Belt in Karate in 2011, and his Black Belt in Kickboxing in 2014. He is a seasoned fighter, and has competed in Boxin; Kickboxing; K1; and Thai Boxing.  

Though he took a back seat from competing in K1 (his chosen fight discipline) whilst he spent two years at Greater Brighton Metropolitan College doing his Diploma in Sporting Excellence (2017 -2019) he kept his hand and ringcraft by having several amateur boxing bouts  .  His return to the K1 Circuit in November 2019 has been a triumphant one. His first adult fight, and his first K1 fight in three years saw him up against International Opposition at the WKO European Open Championships. Jamie beat both Irish and French Opposition to be crowned WKO European Open Tournament Champion in the Amateur A Class Men’s 80kg Division. Jamie is now working full time as a Personal Trainer and Kicks Instructor, and is known for both his friendliness and easy going manner.  He is available for PT Sessions in Boxing, Kickboxing, K1 and Thai Boxing.
